About Amelia

“I bend so I don’t break!”

My values are curiosity, compassion & courage. This is how I approach everything. I believe all humans deserve a right to their biggest life, however they decide to do that.

I began yoga in the 1990’s, pregnant with my first kid & pursuing a career as a commercial lawyer in London. Yoga served as my remedy against the demands of motherhood & the corporate world, easing the restlessness of my mind & body.  Transitioning to full-time yoga teaching in 2020, bringing all I’ve learned from my own practise, teacher training & life lessons. I specialise in teaching breath-based Vinyasa Flow, Yin and Restorative Yoga. My sessions are crafted to align with the requirements and character of my clients, ranging from a post-game recovery sessions for professional footballers to deeply relaxing restorative sessions for exhausted mumma’s.

My approach incorporates the  Māori model of Hauora/ Well-being, encompassing  the four pillars of Te Whare Tapa Whā, teaching from an Aotearoa cultural context.

Uniting the body, breath, and mind, I view Yoga as an individual journey to a more robust, agile body and calm mind. This involves understanding your body’s movement, sensations, shifts and how to safeguard it. There is no prerequisite of being flexible or strong to engage in yoga; all that’s required is a willingness & curiosity to practise. My commitment is to guide my students towards deep and joyful mind-body experiences.
